xxSHANNON ROSExx

Hello and my name is Shannon and this is the latest football news..:
Current manager of Tottenham Hotspur qune-day Ramos has great confidence about tonight’s game against PSV Eindhoven. This is because the club has beaten two major teams Arsenal and Chelsea and they also beat West Ham 4-0 on Sunday .Now that the team have climbed away from their troubles they are training hard, eating well and the results of this were seen as they triumphed to their carling cup victory in February.

Ramos has admitted to training the players mentally as well as physically when he said; “psychology is important, just like technique, tactics, fitness and everything else.” With their captain Ledley King back Ramos and the team have high hopes for a good result for Tottenham Hotspur tonight.

Lorry drivers given safety mirrors to save lives.

London’s lorry drivers are soon to be given new mirrors, to help lower the amount of deaths of London’s cyclists.
Transport for London, intend to give out the apparatus later on this week, with an astounding cost of £40,000. The device will be handed to lorry drivers in the capital.
David Brown, managing director of surface Tfl, said; “Our new cycle safety campaign is designed to give both cyclists and goods vehicle drivers the tools they need to be safe and seen in London’s roads.”
The mayor Ken Livingstone later added; “Cycling in London is getting much safer, but one issue, that has been very difficult to address until now, is the fact more than half of cyclists fatalities on the capital’s roads involve a collision with a goods vehicle. These safety lenses are a simple measure that will help drivers to see cyclists.”

Gladiators Coming Back To TV

Kirsty Galahar and Ian Wright are to present the return of 1990s Saturday night action game show Gladiators.

The ‘gladiator’ show that became very popular in the 1990s is returning to sky 1 with lots of physical games and tasks in May. The original referee John Anderson will return and contestants will be competing to gain a prize of £50,000.
The programme, which ran from 1992 to 2000 on ITV, was originally presented by former weather presenter Ulrika Johnson and ex-footballer John Fashanu.
Sky said that the new program will be given a 21st century makeover.
Ian Wright commented “’gladiators’ is a great show I am thrilled to be involved.
Since people first heard it was coming back, the response has been phenomenal. And I am so excited that a new generation get to experience it."
A brand new line-up of gladiators will be unveiled later this month.
Opinion on the day:
It was fun, I enjoyed it. The best part was when we were searching for information and then writing out our own text.

I enjoyed the day because we were able to discover what goes on behind the scenes at a news studio, we were also able to understand the rush of what journalists go through and how the Journalism career works. I found writing the script challenging because there we're so many things that needed to be done and gone over.

An Early warning for tube commuters...

An Early warning for tube commuters

Today, workers of London underground have voted to go on strike after a row over safety and of ticket office closures. Then members of the transport salaried staffs’ association union supported the action by 4-1.

There has been a rise of issues including the use of agency staff and of the closure of the ticket offices. The TFL had said that the issues have nothing to do with safety with safety and no jobs are at risk. Also, the Rail Maritime and transport union also have plans to have a vote with its members on the use of agency staff and ticket office closures.

The TSSA’s general secretary, Gerry Doherty has said “The size of the vote clearly demonstrates what our members feel about what they perceive as an attack on safety standards and the casualisation of safety-critical work.” Then he continued to say “We hope that LU now recognise that feeling and will reach a sensible agreement with us which ensures that London has the safest Tube system in the world in the run-up to the Olympic Games in four years' time.”

My thoughts for the day:

I really like today's events. While I was researching, I found alot of interesting stories that I did not know about London before. I think today has taught me alot by helping with my research skills. I found writing the script and a good story very hard. Any other people in Yr. 8 who come here next year have got a great opporunity and will have so much fun!

Tamara's report x.xx0o.

The 27 year old singer Ashanti Douglas, from New York, has just released her long awaited new single called ‘the way that I love you.’ And the video has fast become the most requested video on the famous MTV chart show ‘TLR hits’. The song is from the new album ‘the declaration’ to be released in June this year. Ashanti commented that she was excited to work with a number of new producers on this album.

And it seems like 2008 is going to be a really busy year for the star. She is also starring in
You're Nobody till Somebody Kills You, a forthcoming film directed by Michael Pinckney.
She will be starring alongside Michael Imperioli, Jadakiss and Treach in the hip-hop drama about a New York murder. The filming of the project finished last may but is being released later this year.
I quite enjoyed filming because i did want to be a reported and it was a really fun experiance. But i found reserching the right sites and getting the right information a bit difficult. Because i know so much about this person it was easily to spot what information was real and fake. apart from that it was really fun.

Patrick Swayze 'doing well'

Patrick Swayze ‘doing well’

Hello, this is Kimberly, reporting for the BBC entertainment news for today.

Patrick Swayze, famous for starring in the all time favourites ‘Ghost’ and ‘Dirty Dancing’, is said to be recovering well from his treatment for cancer of the pancreas.

The ‘Dirty Dancing’ actor, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January-, is doing well with his third round of chemotherapy. The 55 years old, is undergoing the medical process to kill cancer cells, but is not yet suffering from any side effects such as hair loss.

Only five per cent of patients survive five years after being diagnosed with this form of cancer.
He has received a lot of comfort from his close friends, family and fellow actors. While he’s having his treatment, he’s still continuing his filming schedule. He is working on two films due to be released later this year.

I felt scared but also excited because this is the first time i'm going on TV. It is a great experience for me because i'm actually thinking if I enjoy it, I might do it in the future.
Writing the article is ok, it's not that easy as you think. It is challenging, but i'm sure you'll enjoy if you had a chance. Before the filming, i felt really scared and i didn't want to see myself and hear myself actually, because i just realised that it's gonna be shown to the whole world. The experience of actually filming it, is really embarrasing, but i enjoyed it.
